Hi all,
Instead of opening another thread I add on one more seat related question here.
Finally got the HD solo springer seat on my 48. Still have to get used to the new seating position. What is a bit a problem in my case is that the new position moved quite a bit further to the front so my long legs have not that a relaxed position on the foot pegs anymore.
On a bike somewhere here on the forum I saw this setup

Seems to be the same HD solo springer seat but with another mounting at the back. This makes it sit much lower and I assume the seating position will be moved further back again as well.
In comparison my current setup - although seen from a slightly different angle - looks much higher up and more 'flat' if you compare the angle.

Any idea how the other setup works? Maybe the actual owner is around as well?
Cheers,
Peter

To me it looks like they just removed the hairpin springs and replaced them with rubber stoppers. A lot of guys do this because it's unlawful to mount a spring seat on a bike with rear suspension! HaHa

Have a read through this thread:

So you think it's just a matter of shortening these rubber stoppers to lower the seat like on HoldFast48's bike?

Probably, or just used smaller profile rubber stoppers.

PM HoldFast48 and ask him what he used, looks like it's one single stopper in the middle.

Or do what these guys did... LoL

I went a similar route to Holdfast, but used a thick piece of rubber and velcroed it in place, then cut up some leather to hide the clusterfcuk of wiring:
