Default Does anybody have video of the sportster flat track series?

Please please please no video of XR-750 (GNC twins) races. Only XL sportster models racing. I have searched the web and have come up empty handed when it comes to video footage of XL's flat tracking.

Link to thread on "Harley Racing" events across the country: http://xlforum.net/vbportal/forums/showthread.php?t=53470

These events include Hillclimbing, Flat Track Racing, Ice racing, Drag Racing, etc.. They are all sports dominated by Harley Davidsons. They are always located in scenic areas and are great weekend rides. The above link allows XLforum users to coordinate riding to these events together.

Seriously, nothing? So the whole AMA H-D Sportster Flat Track series is lost to history? That is sad, especially considering that it was the arguably the only motorsport that gave legitimacy to the "Sport" portion of the evolution XL Sportster name.

The best description of the 883 series flat track was: It ain' like watching paint dry, it's like watching paint NEVER dry! Only your wife or girlfriend would video you racing in that series. If she did the whole race, the battery would die. I was at Volushia County Raceway one year, and one of the pros (can't remember who it was) got out and actually raced. He was ahead by a full straightaway...'till the gearbox packed it in. Remember, the rules said it had to be a bone stock 883, and the motor company enforced it to the letter!

Might want to check this site out. Its not a video but it sure covers some halcyon days of racing! If I recall there are some video links associated with Mr. Boomhower's book.
