Well I went from 8" buckhorn bars on my 07 1200L, they hurt my wrist after about 30 min of riding. Then I went to 8" mini apes from Road6customs, they've been great and I didn't have to change out cables either. But I just came across a set of burly 12" mini apes with cables so I jumped on it. When I get them In I'll post a picture of them. I do highly recommend the road6 bars.

i have a 1200xl low and went with the 10s, i really should have went with the 12s. make sure you get the narrow apes they look better with the narrow front end. IMO

depends how tall you are. As a rough guide, if you're longer in the body than the leg, go the 12's, vice versa, go the 10's. just get ones for a narrow glide, unless you're running a springer front end, overwide bases on apes look wrong to me. Welcome to the forum, prepare to spend many hours reading.

I've been actually debating this as well. I've been eyeballing the mini apes from Harley. They're pretty cheap and seem to be good. I just don't know if you'd really need to change the cables or if there is enough slack.

The grips sit at 12" the peak of the bars sit at 14" 1" risers. Lepera bare bones seat

When i got my 74 the guy had 20" apes on them. He was 6'3"and I'm 5'10". I was gonna change them to shorter ones but I have grown to love them. Now i wouldn't change them for anything.
