Thinking of Switching to mini-apes
I have been running a set of black "R" model bars on my bike for about 3 years now.
Now my back is hurting cause I hunch over all the time will riding or I need to be in a position more like a crotch rocket, weight on my hands and arms. I am 6'2".
I like the low bars for hitting the corners harder, but I want to sit up more in a cruising position most of the time.
I'm thinking maybe 12" maybe 10" mini's. I have only sat on the new 72 and those seemed pretty close to what I want and I think those are 10".
Those of you who have switched how different is the handling?
Also the my bike was a Low with buckhorns before so I think I could to 10" without cable changes......

IMO close your eyes and put your hands where you want them to be and buy the bars that put them there. http://www.harley-davidson.com/pna/p...ar_measure.jsp

I found mini apes to be extremely comfortable. I'm six foot and I'm an old geezer. I can't handle being bent over like a pretzel anymore. You'll find that the mini apes take very little time to get use to. You might also find that with the mini apes its much more comfortable with forward controls. I know my knee's couldn't handle anything else. I've got my bike currently set up so it feels like your in a Barco lounger when your riding.

Mini apes with 2.5" riser extensions is what I am running. Have no problems carving up the twistys with em.
