Default handmade oil tank

Hey guys just wondering about how much psi u test an oil tank with? I'm going to have it welded up but need to know how much to pressure test it? Thanks a lot

i dont think you want to go more than 10 or 15 pounds the important thing is leak down of presure not the amount

2-4 psi is all you need. A little air and some soapy water on the seams, no bubbles, no leaks.

indiana is right, pressure is dangerous!! better to test with a vacuum, that way, you have 14.7 psi atmospheric trying to get in, hold vacuum for 30 min. sorta like testing an a/c system.

yea man , i was tempted to drink it and realized i may have had too many , for considering it . but it just goes to show how little pressure is needed

Oil pressure on these are almost non existent. 2-3 psi is plenty for testing.
