Default Trock Cycle Specialties ?

Has anyone ever heard of these guys? Some of the parts that came with the XR are a heavy duty trapdoor and paw carrier, which the pervious owner bought but never installed. They look like good parts to beef up the tranny, but I couldn't find much info online about them.

I have heard of a compamy named Trock. Years ago they were a huge name for guys building Harley drag bikes. I believe they were most noted for selling the parts you needed to make huge inch shovelheads and "shovesters". And I think they raced a number of very fast bikes. Thats all I remember about Trock.

i have heard lots about them. ron trock is the main guy. it seems just about any idea about hopping up an ironhead gets a mention for him. his trap doors are well known and have been recommended everytime i read about ironhead hop ups in magazines. he's also good for stroking and even big boring ironheads. he also makes adapter kits for CV carbs on ironheads.

Thanks guys, that's good to hear. The XR also came with a Andrews mainshaft, so the bottom end should be pretty soild - which is good, since the bike is going to be stupid fast when it's done.

Trock is fantastic stuff. The trapdoor you have should be a "5 bolt door" rather than the standard H-D 4 bolt. It's much stronger and does not flex under hard accelleration. When I put mine on, I installed it with the 4 bolts, the center punched the 5th hole, drilled and tapped the case with the door in place.

Check on the 5 bolt pattern. I looked in the pictures I got of all the spare parts, and that's what it appears to be. It and the paw carrier look to be pretty heavy duty.

If you know any good engine builders / tuners, let me know. The shop that is doing the bike is pretty high performance orientated (they do engines for guys running in AHDRA), and they are currently building a full race XR right next to mine. But I'll take any advice on good cam suggestions, basic tuning, etc. I've read some stuff out of the manual that Jerry Branch put out, plus there is this XR1000 only website I've been hitting.
