Default Will these pipes fit?

I have opportunity for some screaming eagle exhaust off a 96 Sporty. They have a cross over at the bottom of the pipes just before the mufflers. I believe that typically exhaust systems are interchangeable between 88 through 2003. Just wondering if anyone has thoughts on this? Is this typical of exhaust pipes that do not have the "high" crossover to have something lower?
I have a 2002 XLH. I'm looking for some pipes to eliminate the crossover tube that is near the cylinders. These have a crossover down low before the muffler, which I want to change out to the HD larger slant or bologna cut mufflers. Anybody familiar with this?

I looked in my 02 parts book and the only issue I see are the mufflers. They are -00 which means something changed in 2000.

which is ok as I plan to use different mufflers. These "new" pipes have the stock looking mufflers. I did not have a chance to see if they are open or straight thru.
My two concerns are the head pipe fitment and the crossover and whether it would fit or interfere.

Thanks! These have less than 1500 miles and the guy did not like them and took them off. May offer $100 for them and go from there.

kdarejr.... question.... there is a small crossover pipe down low on the pipes, before the mufflers. Do you think this interfere on anything? I'm not sure if this crossover is unique to earlier models or this style pipe, or if it is unique to screaming eagle pipes?

It is. There is no crossover port on pre-04 Sportster mufflers.

The mufflers this guy is trying to sell are either not Sportster mufflers, or they are for 04 and up models.

It is the complete exhaust, with heat shields. I was told they are screaming eagle, and the mufflers are the tapered stock looking mufflers. I will have to make arrangements to get back out there and take some pictures. If I remember, it seems the crossover tube was just in front of the mufflers and went from the front pipe back to the rear pipe. I also seemed to have a black shield covering the tube.
Looks like a quick trip next week with a camera.
