Default gas tank

i have put a custom chrome 4.3 gal gas tank on a 93 sporty because of petcock location i get less mileage before it runs out of gas,with over a half tank still in it.any body have any ideas

...Yep..(1).my first thought would be to just fabricate a "new" petcock hole further down the tank(closer to the end of the tank-and you). Wa lah...less reserve but you wouldn't be running out as fast.


(2) I suppose you would just have to hit reserve sooner but go longer than most others could go on reserve....

(3)...What the heck do I know...I ride a Ironhead that goes just goes--and goes--and goes.........

isn't there a tube underneath the screen on the petcock in the tank? if there is couldn't you just cut the tube down a little bit which would make your reg tank run longer? i checked the internet for petcocks but couldn't seem to find any that said they would make your reg run longer than others. I did find one that says it had no reserve just basically an on/off valve but im sure you don't want that one.
