New from souther colorado
Hey all - just found the site looking up sportster forums in google - looks like a great place to hang out.
I don't officially have my bike yet - I get it tomorrow May 2, 2008. It took me 9 years to convince my wife a Harley would be good to get, and while I would eventually like to get a big v-twin, I have always enjoyed the looks of the sporties and the possibilities they have. So, with gas prices where they are at, and a 70 mile round-trip commute every day, it "just made sense" to get a bike.
So I will be picking up an 2008 XL 883C in vivid black tomorrow after my co-signer gets the papers signed after work, just in time to start breaking in the engine on a weekend that should be about 65-75 degrees!

Do you mean in addition to the Sporty? I'm lucky enough to own 2 scoots, an older Ultra and a 2007 Sporty and I love both of them equally. The Ultra is my Caddy and the Sporty is my Vette.
Hello from Pittsburgh and welcome to the forum.

Sportys tend to keep getting faster the longer you own them.

Yuppers - my budget right now meant to get the sporty first, then to get the other later down the road. I am married, with 5 kids, 3 of them step-children which are going to be going into college in the next 2-3 years, and I myself am a year out from finishing my bachelors degree - so hopefully the pay becomes commensurate with experience (10 years of that already) and school, kids move out....then I can get a nice bagger for cruzin with the wife and hot rod out the sporty....I have also thought about passing the sporty on to my son when he is old enough, he's only 7 right now....

I assume you're buying from Outpost H-D. They were pretty fair with me when I bought my '07 XLC about a year ago. I'm nearby in Colorado Springs; welcome to the Forum!
