Xena's 1212 Conversion - story inside!
Yeah baby it's done! I did an NRHS 1212 conversion
on my Sporty. Just me, my factory manual, tips from NRHS
web site, and some great notes from some XLF members.
NRHS bored a set of cylinders I bought from XLF member
sportsterideragogo (thanks again Gary!), and I got the
10:1 reverse dome pistons with cometic top end gasket kit.
Kept stock heads, stock cams.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to the info on this forum.
It helped me a lot.
I put the bike back together on Friday and did the heat cycles
and the 20 mile ride between Friday and yesterday.
Tomorrow, XLF Member Racerwill who was actually going to
help me put the bike together tomorrow, will be helping me
get the float bowl screws out so I can bump the main jet
up. Other than that she's good to go.
Here are some pictures.
NRHS goodies
Disassembly:

Cylinders on

Heads on

Engine buttoned up

That was easy wasn't it?.... good to go... everyone should build on their bike... and not just bolt chromey stuff on... ZOOM ZOOM time.

Congratulations, thats great, hey if the average monkey at the stealer can do it! Those float bowl screws are really tough you might want to get a few extras in advance. I found that taking the whole carb off and turning it upside down on a work bench. Then tapping the end of the screw driver with a hammer while twisting it helped to loosen them. You do need a third hand for this, Good luck and enjoy the ride.
