Yes it was....

Dunno if he changed bikes along the way (except for that stupid "rocket" bike)...but the XR750 was the main bike for most of his career...

Funny, I just watched the movie last night (with George Hamilton as Evel). They had him on a blue British bike in the beginning, must have been a Triumph then..

Hi All.

I got to meet Mr. Knievel last year, he said that he had three XR750, one was stolen in 1971, one he keeps and had with him on display(No, it was not in running condition) and the third is in the Smithsonian museum.

He did for a wile jump Triumphs.

Evel once claimed that the Harley had so much torque that in mid air, if the front wheel was dropping, he could give it some throttle and pull it back up. He also jumped an "American Eagle" which had the Triumph engine. If I remember right, Bill Kennedy was building a dirt tracker called the "American Eagle" using Triumph engines. I have a picture somewhere of the late Ted Boody with one of them.

He even rode a Laverda for a while but he first came to fame on Triumphs.
Then it was strictly Harley XR 750's till he retired.
