New member with "new" bike
Hi,
I just picked up a `73 XLCH, a bit rough and not running. I thank you for the great stickies! I am starting to clean it up today. Someone thoughtfully disasembled the clutch pack in the past and it is all apart. I ordered a factory shop manual for it on Ebay, so I hope it arrives soon. I will post some pics and then some later when it is back together.

Welcome to the forum from sunny Italy! Smart move getting the manual first, you'd be surprised how many don't.

Good luck on the new purchase!
There are many here willing to help...
I think, among others, IronMick has a good amount of knowledge about the ironheads....

I would suggest also getting a parts manual for your year bike. They can be as useful as the shop manual at times. You will be able to quote exact parts numbers, as well as look at some great diagrams that are not in the shop manual.
Good luck with the bike, and post pics when you can.

I forgot to mention I did also order the parts manual. Can't wait to start working on it!
