What exactly are the posting rules?
I ask because I've been taken by surprise recently.
http://xlforum.net/vbportal/forums/s...hreadid=271476
What I've discovered is that:
1. It's a far bigger sin to make a redundant post ( even if the original was in a poorly titled thread that doesn't give any clue to the subject matter ) than it is to give a thread a vague title.
2. You should be aware of the content of all recent threads before making a new thread or a post in that new thread. (Even if, in the end, the proper title of the new thread makes it more successful than the original with the vague title.)
3. To belittle someone for a "redundant" post or thread is completely acceptable. To call someone out for doing so is most certainly not.
4. There'e a million reasons why someone shouldn't start a thread.
But if someone abides by these rules by searching before they post, and not posting just to hear themselves talk if you will, and that results in a low post count, then they're not really part of the club and should just keep quiet.
5. There's apparently a magic number of posts that makes a member immune from all of the rules and gives them the right to belittle the low-posters at will. What is this magic number, and how did so many people reach it without breaking all of these posting rules?
6. High posters can elude to profanity. Low-posters cannot.

Not sure exactly where the rules are located on this forum, but I think what you're talking about has nothing to do with rules, it's mostly due to your feelings being hurt or getting mad about something some inconsiderate person said I think. There are currently 26,480 member here on this forum, every post you make will not be approved by every member. Don't pay any attention to upsetting remarks, though I do know it only takes a few to ruin one's day. Enjoy the forum for the good things it has to offer and the good people it does have, life's too short to get upset if it can be avoided. Just my 2 cents, but I've been around awhile...

Don't worry about it bro, Just enjoy the site and brush it off. I think that thread simply got a bit out of control by accident. I really didn't think he neant it to be mean when he said that. Hence the Smiley face.
Anyway these things come and go things get taken the wrong way and mistakes are made by us all. Please don't fret any over it.
The mods do a great job here under extreme circumstances, They can't monitor every little post. And they are generaly very understanding.
As for the post count, That has nothing to do with anything, The rules stay the same for everyone. ..
Remember the two majic rules!:
Rule 1, Dont sweat the small stuff !!
Rule 2, It's all small stuff !!
Have fun ...

+1 on what milmat and rascal said. Good responses I believe.
I think I know what you're talking about in your post... and I think its directly related to this being an internet forum, and people and their sarcasm being taken out of context. If a person was to talk to another actually in-person, then I think most of the time there would be no issue such as this.
Everyone is pretty accepting here...

Looks to me like the complainer was the instigator.

Early 87-883/1200 conversion. Wife's bike. SE heads, 1200 flat pistons, 40" Drag Pipes, everything else stock.

Here this whole time I thought the rules directly correlated to Dick size. I just figured that I have a pretty small Dick.
