Default Tire Question

Hey guys I am wanting to run a coker replica tire on a 73 sporty. My question is how wide of a tire can i get on the stock wheel or could i get a wider wheel with mechanical brake so i could run a wider tire???

You can fit a wider 16" rim and run a 5.00-inch or 130/90 or maybe a 140/90 tire pretty easy.
Othewise the old 18" rims were usually good for about 4.50 inch. Dunno about modern tyre sizes on the 18 though.
