Was your 1st bike a Sportster?
I voted yes. Technically I had a Yamaha 400, but it didn't run. I basically did all my learning on my 04 R. Might not have been the best bike to learn on, but it worked out ok for me.

I have ridden many other bikes in my younger days, but they have always belonged to someone else. This is the first bike that I have ever bought and owned. I got a 05' XL 1200C. Most people think it's brand new off the floor. It has been taken care of very well, I intend to do the same.

Yes, Bruiser is the only bike I've owned.

Nope, started off on a 1995 CR80 and owned all sorts of bikes with knobbies on them until the N. I rode plenty of those in the street too

First was an 82 Kaw KL250 that Dad got me for Christmas in 83. Moved up to a VMax in 85, Then a Venture that nearly cost me my life in 92. Actually it was the drunk that ran over me that almost killed me. I swore off riding after that, and said I would only ride if it was a Harley. When I found Dads old Sporty up for sale, I jumped on it, and here I am.

I, too, rode OPBs (other people's bikes) when I was a kid. I never thought about owning one until 3 years ago. I bought my '05 1200C new and put 35k miles on it before I traded it in on a streetglide. I was a fun bike that I will miss. I bought the SG for longer trips.

Sportsters are like prison shanks, small..fast..DEADLY!
When life throws a curve...lean into it and open the throttle.
The wheels beneath me, the road ahead of me..These are the reason's why I ride!!

Started riding at age 14. Like many I took a hiatus for a decade and then returned. The Sportster is my 7th bike.

Aye, it's my first. Learned as a teenager on a Honda 500 XL, but 1) that wasn't mine (belonged to my brother) and 2) I barely rode it.
So, yep. 1st one was a Sportster.

I had several minibikes and dual purpose type bikes growing up. My 1200R is my first street bike.
