Default Smoke Colored Tail Light Lens

Just wondering if the brake light is bright enough with a Smoked Tail light lens...Any thoughts on bulbs for one also?

Thanks
B.H.

I just put one on from sOrgys. It is a Kuryakan LED lay down style. It was about $90.00 or so. It looks great along with the smoked signal markers.

I believe Turbota has a smoked lens. Forget where he got it but it was a lot cheaper. He might be able to answer your questions

I ordered the HD Turn Signal Lens Kit from Surdyke's a few days ago.

Part Number is 69304-02 and it includes 4 smoked lenses and 4 amber bulbs. Price with the Surdyke discount was only $30.36.

I've been fiddling with a stock taillight for a while, but I ended up switching back to stock with a 2357 bulb after spending about 30 bucks in different bulbs hoping visibiltiy would be good.

I ended up determining that it was the internal reflector that didn't work well with the laydown lens, and the way the lens didn't refract the light (it was a wavy and smooth horizontal pattern versus a several small diamond like prizms molded into the lens), so it was just a small red spot you could see if your eyes were taillight level..

Mine is a 98 and there is a different part number for the 99-2003 and then 2004+..not sure what's different..they may work better
