Default what's the float level specs for the CV40

What should the float level be set at in the CV 40 . More importantly, how do you measure it? My 06 1200r has been having fuel flow out the bowl vent hose. It's a problem that seems to come and go sporadicaly. I took the bowl off to check and clean the inlet needle. While the bowl was off, the carb was lets say "mishandled". I may have bent the tab on the float. It looks like it's hanging down farther now. I still got the carb off. I did a search on this first and found alot on the float and needle. I could not find specs or how to's on setting it. Does this help? Thanks,Dodgenbullets.

To measure you set the carb on the engine manifold side, then tilt it 15 to 20 degrees away from the float side until the float comes to rest. You have to measure from the carb flange face to the perimeter of the float. The manual says to use a vernier or dial caliper depth gauge. The measurement should be 0.413 - 0.453 in (10.49 - 11.51 mm). If it isn't, remove the float, bend the tab, reinstall the float, then measure again.

Remove carb, remove bowl, set level bottom side up. Measure distance between bowl mounting surface and bottom of float. Should measure between .725" and .730". That is for a 1988, so it may have changes since then.

Still crazy after all these years.
Late 87-883 Hugger/1380cc (84") conversion. Too many cool parts to list. Built engine on a fresh set of cases, so conversion might not really describe it. Estimated near 115 hp.
Early 87-883/1200 conversion. Wife's bike. SE heads, 1200 flat pistons, 40" Drag Pipes, everything else stock.
