Default Mini Apes on 1200R

For those interested I have just fitted a set of 12" Mini-Apes (part no: 56563-95) on my 2004 1200R.

I test rode a Street Bob last year and liked the riding position.

There were some questions before about whether the stock cables & wiring would fit.

All stock wiring fits apart from the brake hose. Ordered a Goodrich set but I was told the Dyna Sport extended ones also fit.

There is some slight re-routing to be done but it is easy enough.

It is now really comfy and looks the part too!

Nice Ride. Do you have a pix from the front and rear. I'm thinking about doing the same but was wondering how it looked.

Damn it, now I want a set of those bars. I already can't afford the rest of the stuff I want for the bike.

That DOES look good.
one more mod to add to my list. I hope it looks as good on a custom as it does on your Roadster.

Actually a cheap conversion, just the bars & brake line.

Worth it I think.

The bars would probably suit a Custom model better.

They must put longer cables and wires on the R and C models
when I put the 12' apes on my Std nothing came even close
to fitting I had to change everything

Aloha SportyMark,

Thanks for posting the pics of your ride. There's always plenty of pics of Customs out there to see samples of but not many Roadsters. So I thought it was really cool to see yours. Was hoping you could answer a few questions.
1) How does it handle now that you changed the bars to the mini apes?
2) I love that headlamp visor and have been looking for one. Could you tell me where you picked that up?
Thanks, JC

Handling is the same (it does feel more relaxed though) but bear in mind the suspension mods needed to improve it (1200S rear shocks & Progressive front springs).

Headlamp visor is a Custom Chrome one (the front indicator visors are Harley ones).
