not hard core enough
Man, I don't think I will ever be as hard core as the dude I saw today!. It's 29 degrees out, snowing to beat the band, the roads are slick and I saw some guy on his sporty going down the Road. Whoa! now that is crazy. I must be getting old or something.

hmmmm yep been there done that got the bill to prove it, i ride all weathers and have ridden in the snow - not reccommended period i came off twice thankfully it was slow going and it just got away from me.
Now i call it quits at snow unless i am out and it snows then i ride on the main roads which are usually clear.

When i was young man i've ridden my motorcycle's in the snow...one time was for transportation cause i didn't own a car at the time, like age 16 had motorcycle endorsement before i could drive a car legally.. although it was just a flurry's as the snow didn't stick to the road at all... but bet your ass..i got home as soon as i could before it settled in..
only cause a motorcycle was cheap good transportation back then..knowadays thinking back..i'd do it again only if i had too..
Other times..i'd get the old dirtbike out and ride thru 6-12 inches of snow and mud that would freeze on contact just for the pure sport of it to hone my skills of riding with little or no traction, only to end up on the ground more than i stayed on 2 wheels...LOL

Anything under freezing and you'd have to be insane or just plain stupid to ride a bike!

I've been trying to figure out when it is too cold to ride to work in the mornings. It sucks when its cold in the mornings asd pleasant in the afternoons. It hasn't been too bad so far, a few mornings in the low 40's.......I'm thinking anything much into the 30's is time to put her up for weekends only. At some point it's going to have to sit, I hate thinking about that!

I thought it was illegal to ride a motorcycle after a certain date in Alaska? Or is that only an Anchorage city law? I did see a guy on a trike once in December I think, but I think trikes are legal all year round.
Edit: Also wanted to mention that even guys driving rear wheel drive sportscars have a heck of a time driving in Alaska in the winter. I saw more than one Mustang or Camaro trying to spin its way up the C Street hill in Anchorage. I can't imagine riding a motorcycle.
