Warranty Issues?
I am still considering options for "paying the taxes", and have done alot of research on pipes and air filters. Apparently, it isn't a huge deal and will not void warranty to modify pipes and AC, but I am considering the S&S kit for the Super E carb and filter... dealer service department says replacing the factory stock carb will definately void the warranty.
Should I not do engine modifications for 2 years?!?!? Or am I being paranoid? Any thought on the subject are appreciated. Sincerely, Cat

Do you mean just an S&S air cleaner? Or are you saying replace the stock CV carb with an S&S Super?
Stock carb runs great after Stage 1 mods and is easy to tune (well....usually).
Just wondering if you're wanting the S&S carb itself....

Yeah, S&S now has a kit which includes the Super E Carb, all hardware, AND the AC for like $400'ish, and was thinking of doing it all at once... should I stick with factory carb and just get an S&S AC is the question I guess... I figured performance will be even better with a different carb, but maybe not worth voiding the warranty at this point on a 3 week old bike.

The stock carb is good for the horsepower that a stock sporty has so there really is no need to change it. And, if you were to replace the carb, I believe most people would point you to a Mikuni. I would just change the AC and pipes and rejet.

you can always go through the hassle of swapping things out when you need the warranty work done.

Ok... Thanks for the input folks, I am a little skittish to void my warranty at this point, so I'll just stick with exhaust & AC mods and simply rejet the stock carb.
Your comments are apreciated!

I think the J&P catalog said the Super E is more of a top end dragstrip carb and the
Super B is better or adequate for street use.
