1967 Ironhead
67 sporty chopper.Paucgho frame. 900cc motor that has been bored .040. here is a list of other things the bike has. SU carb, magneto ignition, new barnett clutch, narrow glide front end, 21" front wheel, 16" rear, PM hand controls, PM rear brakes, Indian Larry Oil filter relocation kit, kick start only, right side shift.
I am looking to buy this bike. They are asking 4K. I don't know much about Ironheads so wanted to get opinions if good price or not and any advice about ironheads. See photo.

I looked at bike today. Started up after prime kicks +2. Small oil leek at oil drain plug. Otherwise looks and sounds great. I wanted some input on 67 IH and what to expect or look for in terms of problems.

Lots of maintenance required on oil heads, don't worry too much about leaks till they stop suddenly. It will take a great deal of care to keep running, but will definitely be worth it..

yea, really you just have to keep it near perfect tune so it will start without hurting you knee. You just have to keep up with it. The barnett clutch addresses the oil in the clutch hub problem. The basic ironhead design went from 57 to 80 something(81?) so it is pretty strong design wise. No specific issues affect 67's.

The only thing is that if you expect to be able to do an annual maintenance and then ride for a trouble free season you will be disappointed. These are not Honda Shadows!
As already mentioned there is lots of room for both love and hate with these things. The love part makes it all worthwhile.
Someone has done a standup job on that bike. Looks awesome. Uuuuh, hardtail frame there, eh.
