Default Odometer wont switch to trip

I can't seem to get the odometer to switch to the trip mode. I click the little rubber covered button once and then hold it for 2-3 seconds and it doesn't switch to trip mode. Anyone else have this problem?

Try not holding the switch in. Just press it and release it. See if that works.
