74 XLCH Rebuild - Parts & Prices
Here is a list of the parts I need so far and their prices. I have tried to compare prices at the links posted in the where to buy thread.
These are items that have been identified bad by a mechanic and parts he recommended. Does anyone see an issue with these parts? For example, I saw a $125 connecting rod, but I'm guessing it was poor quality...
Thanks!

Those parts are all 'MADE IN USA' and are top of the line. That is what you want to put in your motor. AVOID TAIWAN CRAP. Cheap parts are just that...CHEAP!

just a suggestion..
take that list to Mandmcycles.com and send him an email. he might beat all those prices on the exact items you're looking for..
and as Hrdly said, they're all top of line stuff, you can't go wrong. If those are the parts the mech said you needed.. go for it.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll check the additional two places for pricing. I'm happy to buy made in the USA, but I'm going to buy from the lowest bidder

I was looking for nos rods for another project & they are hit/miss on ebay. I passed on S&S, but eventually found set for $80. Most the time they are double that.
There is a set of S&S rods (no pin/bearings) for 189 buy now on ebay...I would think you could source pin & bearings and still be ahead on that one.
Hrdly-are the taiwan rods the one that say "replaces part#" stamped on them instead of part#?
