what would be the stock rear shock length on my 06 XL 1200L i want to raise the clearance ,a little as i scrape on some corners , upgrade them as well, iron floating rotors are also on my XLmas list thanks for lots of great info

Use a tape measure and measure the distance between the top and bottom shock attatch bolts with the bike on its jiffy stand.

I think the custom and the L have 11.5 inchers.

The customs and the lows come with 11.75" shocks on the 2005 models. I'm guessing it would be the same for 2006.

Your stock shocks are 11.75" just as Deimus said. Progressive is giving their closest, or most popular, or whatever fit that they produce. They don't make 1/4" sizes.

I put 13 " 412s on my 06 1200C and it makes all the difference in the world. No scraping in the corners and more length from the seat andmy knees are beside the tank, not on top of it.
