Default Fork brace install

I just bought an adjustable fork brace. I got it off of ebay so it didnt come with instructions. I am not sure the brand though I have seen it somewhere. It has 4 bolts going down and 2 going sideways on each fork. I am wondering if there is anything that I need to do other than just putting on the fork. I am wondering where on the fork to install and searching for tips thanks.

what year bike do you have? pre-87 (i think), you have to pop off the dust covers. after 87, it shoud fit right over the dust covers. i bought one on ebay about 3 weeks ago....the guy said he guarenteed it would fit all sportsters....it didn't fit mine. hope yours is the right one.

does the fork brace fit easily over the dust covers? if so, you should be alright. the instructions i read said to tighten the bolts (no real pattern for torquing) while making sure the forks are able to compress without binding.

I just bought the Screaming Eagle fork brace, instructions said to mount it on the fork caps for my bike, other bikes you have to move the caps out of the way, install the brace and then reinstall the caps. I mounted it half on the caps and half on the fork tubes, as low as the brace would go without touching the fender.
