That looks just like a '73-'81 disc brake light switch with a different lead on it. I would like to see the lever assy, with the threaded hole for it.

P/N for the lever assy is 45002-69, it's for L69-72, so I assume it's the front brake switch version. According to Chicago Harley, they have one in stock, and will sell it for about $30.00, plus shipping. I would call first, as I once gave them an online order for a bunch of old stuff they ( thier website) said they had, and they cancelled it and I had to wait for a refund.
If you need prices for factory parts, Chicago's website rocks! You just have to have a P/N. If I did'nt have my local commercial acount with my stealership, I would buy from Chicago all the time. They give about 20% right off the bat.
BTW, they also show the bracket only, which is probably the only part that's different, P/N: 45023-69 , 'bout $10.00

I just bought one from Old Dude Vintage Parts for my 72 XLH. It was the same switch as pictured and cost about 30 bucks.

In MID 1969 the Feds made Harley place a second the REAR brake Light switch off the bar hand level, the switches are not really robust so install with care.
it is the one in the picture

In Mid 1969 Harley had a SECOND rear light stop switch that was mounted off on the FRONT lever perch.
depending on your age; you may not remember that back in the day the FEDS made Car and MC companies place side reflectors or running lights on the vehicle and it carried over to Harley in the Summer of 69. a 68 Sportster does not have these reflectors, and a very early 69 Sportster may not have the switch. I hope this explains...
the switch was a second means of turning on the rear light, so the confusion is that the rear light came on when the front brake lever was applied..
I guess the Feds did not trust Harleys rear brake light switch and the switch in the picture screws into the hole on the special perch, I think they ran these right up to when front disc brakes came stock.
I have this setup on my 1969 XLCH my bike was build in July of 69.
