Question Primary Chain Replacement

It's that time, I've adjusted the Primary to it's peak. I actually split my adjuster in half while riding. Man, I never want to hear a noise like that coming out of my bike ever again. I guess there was so much vertical force across the thing that it just couldn't take it, especially since I was hot roddin it.

I've heard it is best practice to change the sprockets when changing the drive chain. Is it also necessary to do so when changing the primary chain?

Thanks!
- Billy

Cool, I think I'm going to try to get away with not changing them.
I'll give it another look over and make sure there's no excessive wear on the teeth.
Thanks!

That's exactly the thing....

Don't throw money at a perceived problem "just because"...

I'm sure they're not that expensive, tho.....and it can't hurt....

When you pull the primary case, do whatever is needed, so you don't have to do it again......

very rare to ever need to replace engine sprockets.... even rarer to have to replace clutch baskets due to sprocket wear... in fact i can't recall ever doin one..

You'll usually go thru a few chains first..
