Default Warranty cover cosmetics ?? i.e. pitted rockerbox

I noticed that my rockerbox (chrome) on my XLC has some pitting that must have been there when they chromed it. It's not really noticable unless your really looking at it close. But when shes all shined up you can see a little pitting under the chrome.Right on the side most visible. The bike is in the shop right now (I broke It !) I was just wondering if HD might replace the Chrome rockerbox under warrenty, ??

They might if the bike is pretty new. That's not unheard of. At least you can try.

when i bought my wifes bike, there was a thumbprint in the paint in the gas tank. we didn't notice it for over a month until really detailing the bike. hardly noticeable, down near the bottom curve on the left side. my dealer took care of that and even returned the first replacement tank cause they didn't like the looks of it.

if its an obvious manufacturing defect, i don't see why they wouldn't replace it, hd prides itself on finish.

The MoCo wouldn't cover a 98 evo w/7000mi on it...had to have a complete reman and they said it wasn't their problem...

I don't believe they will , But it doesn't hurt to ask. If the dealership is slow right now they may want to, so the mechanic and shop is still turnin a dollar..

Seeing how they have to tear down your motor to fix tranny, well hopefully not. Dang 04's +

now is the time to have them replace the pitted box, maybe they will split the cost with you.

I am gonna ask about it,

But Really it isn't even noticeable unless I get down beside it and really look.
And with all i have heard about rockerboxes leaking, Unless the tranny has got to come out I may be just as well off to leave it alone while it doesn't leak at all.

I just want my bike back !!!!
