I am a 10-99 independent contractor & 100% commission guy . .the monitor and printer I use at work are mine! So really, I check in on "his desk", but on "my time", and split the difference on equipment.

I work at home, but use two laptops. Mine for my stuff, and IBM's for theirs. I am basically a paid monitor. So I am only needed when needed. If that makes sense...
