Dyno Disappointment
Well, after over two weeks of waiting, my 2007 1200 was the first EFI Sportster run on the new Dyno at Worth's HD. The results are attached.
When I picked up the bike, the dyno tech, in passing, said, "By the way, I had to turn one of the pots up all the way." That's 50% more fuel!! When I went in (using the previously posted method of turning the SERF) none of the pots had been set over anywhere near full fuel enrichment. As one would expect, the bike now runs "fat" and it bogs when I nail the throttle. It runs nowhere as good as when I brought it in.
As for results, 63#torque 62hp. The dealer tried to tell me "those are good numbers for a Sportster..." When I asked, "What have other Sportster's done, he said, "I don't know." I had to provide the techs (all three of them) with the SE catalog info for 07s, and they said, "Those numbers are not at the wheel."
When I asked for more printouts, such as RPM, baseline runs and other parameters, the dyno tech could not get the printer working (at least the data is in storage). The runs were done in 4 gear (at least they got that right) so at least the dealer is not trying to "run up the numbers" by doing 5th gear runs or turning off the smoothing, but the results are still a disappointment and the bike is running worse than before. Also, it cost $105 in tuning time...all for a worse running bike.
I am guessing some of the problem is 1) newly trained techs 2) no baseline experience with EFI bikes--especially those with SERFs and 3) not being able be there when the work was done.
So, if any of you have dyno results for your 2007s, please post them. I have a Sportin_07s XL50 results. Others would be appreciated.
***PS, I am running V&H straighshots, SE ac and have installed the SE Race Fueler.

That is bone stock I am guessing correct? No stage 1? If you do stage1 you can add about 10 hp to those numbers. Did you break the bike in before you dynoed it? I thought the fuel injected bikes were faster. Maybee I'm wrong on that but that's what I thik I remember hearing. You can see my numbers in my signature. I think you should be higher than I am unless you are bone stock. Have you checked your plugs to see if they are fouled from being to rich? I would take it back to them and tell them it runs worse than before and tell them you want i fixed.

I completely agree with this and have done it myself. There is no reason why you should accept a crappy dyno report on a bike that's running worse than when you brought it in. However, make sure you do your homework here first so you can help them figure out how to make it right. It sounds like they don't know what they're doing, which ain't uncommon even in my limited experience.

it happens all the time, but you shouldn't have to pay for shoddy workmanship. i would go back to the dealer and have them do it again until they get it right. unfortunately, you might have to take them some information to do it......
good luck

Those are numbers you would expect out of a stock bike instead of a stage 1 bike. If your bike truly is stage 1, then the dealer screwed up or something is wrong with the bike.

Could be worse......You coulda plopped down $35,000 for a CVO (Screaming Beagle) that woulda topped out at 70 hp. Then you'd really be sad.

From what I've read on this forum, I would not let ANY Stealership even close to my bike. I know there are probably just a few techs out there, that know what they are doing, but they are few, and far between. I can't believe some of the stories I read here. How can some of these idiots be so stupid, and keep a job?

These numbers are stage 1. Bike was broken in properly.

I called the dealer and complained...although not "committing" to anything, the tech said bring the bike back in (duh!) When I return, I want to bring a handful of dyno sheets from other EFI sportsters to show the techs that these numbers are not right. The bike does not run good and gets bad mpg (30s). Right now, it's snowing, so it might be a week before it goes back. Hopefully the forum can help get some dyno results for me.
As a note, it seems to run good before dyno turning, but had some flat spots. The idea of dynoing the bike was to speed up the SERF tuning process. I am convinced (in hindsight) that I could have done better with time and patience. When I have them rerun the results, the first run with be with the SERF set where I originally had it (see previous post).
