Talk about indecisive!!!
I have had a serious case of the tinker and paint bug since I bought my bike, and am never truly happy when I look at my bike, although it is getting better. Here is a compilation of pics of various stages that my bike has been in.
When I started to get the paint bug:
When I wanted to go 2 up:
When I wanted to chop the fender and strip/polish the tank:
Chopped the seat, and bought shocks:
Bought the solo seat, got slip-ons, painted the bottom part of the tank black, and stripped parts of the wheels:
Wanted to try apes, so I made some, got a full exhaust and painted the tank again:
Got brave and decided to paint the whole bike:
Decided I didn't like all the color, and wanted to get crazy and start chopping:
Painted the rear fender after I chopped it some more, sold the exhaust to get some Nightster slip ons and painted the headlight:
Realized how dumb the fender looked so I got an older one and made it fit, tried a Nightster seat and painted the tank again, as well as the headlight:
Got some 8" risers and decided to go all black and put some big, dorky mirrors on and got the right fender (I don't know why I painted over that tank scheme):
Painted some dumb lines on the tank:
Wanted to try the red metalcast that I had painted my project Kawa tank with, before I sold it:
Put drag bars back on, painted the whole bike again and chopped the rear fender, significantly, as well as the cam cover and exhaust and got a new a/c:
Built some struts and played with lace:
Got some Flanders bars, new mirrors , headlight and license plate light from a swap meet:
Covered the new seat pan with some padding and cheap vinyl from Hobby Lobby:
Decided the red was not for me once I discovered the green metal effects that I painted my helmet with:
At some point I had also stripped the primary cover, rocker boxes and got rid of the hand controls.
Wanted something to stand out, so I got some pinstriping tape and made these flames:
Then I cut the Flanders bars and made these, plus I made these mirrors out of stock stems and little mirrors:
I've got some additional changes coming, when I get back to Houston, so be prepared for more changes/updates! I'll just keep using this thread. I hope you enjoy this as much as I have. LOL
Oh and this bike gets ridden! I've already got about 20K on it.
