Trade in my 883 Custom for an Iron 883
I was thinking about trading in my 08 Custom for an Iron. My custom is gloss black with drag bars and a few other mods. I find that I like the 'dark' look, in fact, I put on the number 1 'dark' timer cover. Not sure if it looks right. Rather than spend more on my current ride I would put it into the Iron. I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on my list of mods below for the Iron.
RSD 12" Vintage bars - Black
RSD Venturi air cleaner - Black constrast cut
Vance & Hines, RSD tracker exhaust
Powder coat the rims red
Replace tires with whitewalls
10" black struts
Lower front suspension
Spring seat
Black forward controls
various 'dark' accessories (hand grips, pegs, etc.)
Any input would be great.

Trading in a 2008 for an 2009 has to be expensive.

Is this what you have or what you plan to do?

That sounds ridiculous - a little paint and maybe a sawzall or cutting wheel is all you need to do-it-yourself...

Sounds to me like you want your bike to look like every 3rd bike out there.

883 for an 883? Nope, I wouldn't do it. You might as well go all out and trade up to a Road King or Glide.

But you lose so much value on your trade in. If that's what you wanna do, don't listen to us, just do it and be happy.

If it were me and I insisted on trading, I'd trade for a Nightster. But then I can never have too much power!!!

if it were me i would go for the 1200 nightster too. you can probably trade into the nightster cheaper than you can convert the iron. but it's all in what YOU want

If its a Good deal go for it, I thought the Trade in deal was only if you went to a big Twin. Id trade my 08 for an XR1200 if I could get the MSRP trade deal, But I cant !!
