I bought the HARLEY service and HARLEY parts manual before I got the bike. Once I made the deal, I ordered them. I do not like the non-Harley's manuals, I feel they are two general, I like the right manual for the model year. I have and had, both for every bike I have owned.

I have a service manual for my 1972, but no parts manual. I haven't needed either one in almost 39 years.

I first got a pirated haynes on cd from ebay. covered all years so was segmented and/or non-specific . painful to read and poor quality scans.
Got me through until my harley FSM and PM came in.
Best $100 I have spent so far.

Since no-one yet sells a legal service manual on a CD for these bikes you forgot to say you got "stolen" CD manuals for your bike...

I wish you could get one of those legally.

I peeled the cover off mine, 3 hole punched it, and put it in a loose-leaf binder. That way it opens flat and stays open to the page I'm working with.

Dudley here, I don't have one but I'm going to get one for sure. I have a leak around my cluch cable and want to see if I can do it myself. I need to know something about it to know what to expect to hear from the shop. With a manuel I'll know something about the shaft. I hate to get stiffed by anyone.

That's a great idea. I enlarged my wiring schematics to 11" X 17" on my copier and highlighted the circuits I was working on at the time, and that was a great help for my tired old eyes too.
I have to say that the Clymer manual has the best carb section though. Harley thinks you can't work on the carb, so they don't give you anything useful in their carb section.
