Anyone going to the Buell Day at Lauwe this weekend?
I'm heading over with a couple of mates on Saturday. Seems to be about 25 riders from England going. One of my mates went last year and reckons it's a good meet.
Well... it was a good trip and a good event laid on by Twin Power Belgium.
Considering the utterly crap weather over much of England at the weekend, we were pretty lucky for the 500 mile round trip. Had a mostly dry trip down, staying off motorways, and stopping en route for a beer in Cassel - a beautiful little town on probably the only large hill in Nord/Flanders.
The Belgian Buellers laid on a good time, with trays full of beer miraculously appearing on a regular basis from the generous Belgians and Dutch.
I was in a group of about half a dozen hungover Brits who were led by a Frenchman back to Calais on Sunday morning, at a gentle pace (70-75) on damp autoroutes. Just the thing to clear the head.
