Default what size of rear fender

What should I use a 5" or 6" flat rear fender for my paughco framed sportster project? running stock 16 - 130 rear tire and wheel. I want it to look sleek and hug the tire but I do not want issues with it rubbing.

JP cycles offers a heavy Gage 6" rear fender that i used on my last build.
i also went with the plain steel rear fender brace made for this fender. something told me that it would have to be modified, or i would have sprung for the chrome version. sure enough we cut off about 1" on each side, anyway it was to be painted flat black to match the fender. we also removed about 10" of the fender, this let it sit about 1" above the belt. the leftover piece was used for the rear license plate bracket.
