Kickstand replacement - HOW? ( Jiffy stand )
Im changin my jiffy stand to a Hugger one
Can someone please tell me - how does the kickstand detach/reattach? What holds that pin in there? What tools needed?

every1 here knows how to remove reflectors, but no one knows how to take a kickstand off? it aint in the manual either!

Check your manual again, because the manual
for my 04 has the removal procedure listed under
Chassis Section > Jiffy Stand.
Anyway it doesn't look like a big deal. Remove Cotter pin
and Clevis pin.

A trick I read somewhere is, with the jiffy stand extended, to add some coins into the spring coils first then return the jiffy stand to the "up" position. The inserted coins will keep the spring length longer thus making removal from the jiffy stand & retaining pin a lot easier. Saves you from having to use pliers to stretch spring out for removal/insertion.
Worked like a charm for me when I re-n-re'd the jiffy stand for chrome'ing.

thanks for the help.
1 tip: get a cotter pin from the dealer. the ones they use shouldn't be re-used.
also had to replace spring. it's heaps better now with the hugger stand, leans over properly.

now i have my wooden struts on, awaiting the 11" shocks. The 12" Ikon shocks have been removed to sell.
