Altering the length/angle of the Vent Tube
My be a very simple/obvious question but are there any issues in lengthening and/or changing the angle of the vent tube? I’d like for it to vent more towards the ground versus puking oil all over my frame, etc.
Anyone have any pictures of alternate vent tube setups??

Clamp a hose on it and run it back under the motor.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it (especially if you don't know what you're doing). Most Sportster problems are owner-induced.

Shouldn't be a problem. I added a 8" length hose to mine to direct oil vapor away from the bottom of the engine and frame.

Lengthen it, shorten it, twist it into the shape of animals...
...It won't have ANY affect performance-wise.
Your only consideration should be that it DOESN'T spray the crap that comes out of it all over yourself or your rear tire.

so how much oil mist, spray, whatever, comes out of this tube? under normal circumstances? i understand blow by, oil level, and the dreaded sumping on the tank will expell more then normal. i ask cuz i was thinkin of runnin it to a small oil catch with a breather on it, like the one in J&P, though im makin my own, 133.99 is absurd.

The more you ride, the less you see. My '74 is a daily rider...
...and I get NONE.
Zip, zilch, zero, nada.
Why would you want to catch it, anyway?
The tube does it's job just fine by puking it to the ground, where it belongs.
It it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I added a hose to the outlet on my '83, and at worst I get a drip on the pavement when I park it. I'm sure it's blowing a small amount of oil while I ride, but there's never enough on my rear tire, swingarm, or brake to notice.
My vent hose is shaped like a giraffe, BTW...

I want to see pics of that giraffe vent tube, smart-ass...
...and the clown who bent it up at your kid's birthday party.

Sort of like a James Bond smoke screen? I was going to...
...develop a dart launcher for dumbasses that cut me off in traffic.
But throwing lug-nuts at them just works too damm well.
