Here's mine, like Streetfightster described.

The headlight eyebrow is mounted under the top clamp Edman style.

That's where the original headlight visor is fixed on the top triple tree.
You just need 2 small spacers.
I did the same, many years ago before changing for wide triple tree.

I grinded off part of the stock eyebrow and used a 6 in longer clutch cable (barnett). I routed it down the right side fork tube then came back over to left side under the bottom clamp.

When I tried it with the original cable the turn was too sharp and made the pull too heavy, it worked good with the longer cable on the right side.

Here's a pic without the hat. You can slightly tweak the gauge bracket holes to fit, or on mine, the bracket is trimmed and new holes drilled. The headlight eyebrow is trimmed, as is the fairing bracket to fit between the clip-ons. The two same bolts mount the eyebrow and the gauges, coming up from the bottom, and thread into the top clamp.

Edman's bike has been a huge inspiration and blueprint for a lot of us, and has the lowered headlight mod, so I just connect the two.

Here's his site: www.earth2us.com/bike/cafe.htm
Google 'sportster cafe' and it's #1.
