Indy in North Alabama?
Hey y'all,
Stuck over here in Kuwait without my Sportster. Left my girl with my younger brother, who owns a Harley himself and is a farmer and trucker and pretty good mechanic. He tells me that my Sportster is not holding a charge. I put new HD battery and cables on it in Janurary and rode it 2 or 3 thousand miles after that before shipping out to Kuwait. I know there is a Harley dealer in Huntsville and one in Chattanooga, that the brother uses, but I've been burned by Harley dealers. If i was there, I would fix it myself, but I ain't. Anybody know a good Indy anywhere close to Scottsboro, Alabama?

Sorry, can't help w/ an indy in the area. The two I had been using closed shop.
I had Hildreth Performance do my heads. I think he's more of a performance guy than general mech though.
There's a shop in Hazel Green on hwy 431, but I don't have any experience w/ them.
Klown mentioned Chopper Alley on hwy 72 in Madison, but I don't know anything about them either.
Not much help am I?
STAY AWAY FROM ROCKET HARLEY!
Bad personal experience w/ them. Other people I know have said the same.
BTW. I'm in Huntsville.

Chopper alley is out of business, I guess they found out the hard way that there isn't too big of a market for $50,000 bikes without a rear suspension. I used to get my oil and other maintenance stuff from them. Now I just go to rocket HD and my VW mech for my amsoil, still do my own work though.

Check out this guy in Madison. I just got this information myself so I can't testify as to the quality. The person that told me about is kind of trust worthy and said good things.

I should have read the thread - I see XLinAL already mentioned Hildreth performance.
