I've waved to everyone since I had my first bike when I was 16. Even on the old Honda 125 they used to wave back. I felt impotent! I still wave to everyone no matter what their riding. Even the mopeds. Only problem I having these days is waving to these things but I still do. Are they really a bike?

I do the same thing (habits are hard to break) and have been waved at by the same. I like the fact that your a rider no matter what and the acknowledgment is pretty cool in my book.

I agree that aknowledgment is great, but just dont let is bother you if you dont get it.
I had a guy pull up next to me at a light last week. He looked over at me, looked at my bike , looked at me (up and down), he kinda gave me that snob asshole look. Who cares. He was riding a 2000 or so Springer Softtail, with I imagine a 10 thousand dollar paint job on it, all chromed out and loud pipes. But I thought it was ugly, I am not into buckhorns, or pillow seats, he also had three sets of front pegs, He obviously built it for comfort, Wich I am more into fast and cool then comfort. Anyways the moral of the story, is he thought he was better than me because he had a "BIG" bike with all that money crammed in it and I was riding "JUST" a Sportster. I would take a sportster over that thing anyday and I also will take the sportster attitude, mind set and mentality over that of his ANYDAY of the week. I hate ignorance as much as the nect guy, buy I can handle it better when its someone elses ignorance, F them.
Bye the way he tried to take off all fast and stuff, but I got next to him and ask him to get in my lane and ride, next thing i know he dropped back 5 cars. F him, but it didnt ruin my ride or my day I just laughed at him and had fun.

Hate to admit, although I have always saluted my fellow bike riders, no matter what they were riding, I have to tell you that I can remember being on my rice burner and being snobbed by Harley riders. Sad but true.

i'll wave at everyone...unless i'm in the middle of gear change or somethin' and hey if they wave back that's cool....if they done....well, maybe they're in the middle of shift change or afraid to take their left hand off the bar. :-) it is what it is, i don't worry about it...just ride.

I was riding the other day and a rider waved at me when I was shifting gears and he saw me later and asked me what the deal was and I told him "Nothing personal, it's Saftey".

Sometimes you can't wave and sometimes the other rider may not be skilled enough to wave back.

There are these 2 girls that I work with that just bought a pair of Honda Rebels to learn how to ride around town, I ride with them any chance I can. It's not about brands or styles, it's about riding.

I wave at every body its just common courtesy ,there are alot of new riders out there who are terrified to take there hands off the grip and then there are the horse's ass who has this delusion that there name brand bike or make of name brand bike makes them better than everybody else and it would be real easy to not wave at them but I figure two horse's ass'es dont make a whole horse . ride on and forget about them they will soon sell there 03 aniversary super duper sled with 1000 miles on it and move on to the next fad.
