Try J&P cycles. They have a pretty good supply of stuff.

Are you doing a refurbish or a restore on the Sportys? I'd love to have a stock '57. Bid on a motor last week on eBay, but someone wanted it more than me. If it's anywhere near stock, I'd like to see pictures even of the parts.

+1! The old timers with original trim are rare and always a pleasure to see, even in a basket. A good part of Harley-Davidson's reputation is built on the dependability and longevity of the breed. The old bikes are the proof in the pudding. A lot of RUBs are clueless to this aspect of the HD heritage, but it is one of the most salient components of the reputation of the HD lineage. And Sportsters were the first and only American Superbike.
Pics would certainly be welcome!
Good luck on your projects!

I'm restoring two of them myself--a 61 and a 62. I've developed some pretty good connections for hard-to-find parts, so let me know what you need, and I might be able to help.
There are a couple things I still need, too--like the headlight door for the locomotive-nacelle headlight and the six volt battery tie-down rods and brackets--so keep you eyes open for me, too.
Looking forward to the pictures.

Sporty Specialties is rumored to be one of the best sources for parts for the old XLs. Link is in the IronHead WebSites Sticky.
