Valve seal failure is common on 04's.

Light blue / gray color,,,seems to be oil. After initial start-up it stops smoking.
She's got near 17K miles on her. May be time for that 1200 conversion (!)

Yup, must have the old type valve seals. The old seals allow oil to puddle around the base of the seal, when the valve opens the oil drops into the cylinder and smokes on initial cold starts. How is the oil consumption? I'm using a quart every 2,500 miles.

No expert but is that common? Seems like a lot of oil use to me.

Oil consuption very low...I almost never have to add oil between changes, but then again I change it often.
How hard is it to replace the seals?
