1200 Stock final drive ratio
I'm ordering a chain conversion kit from zippers today and I want to know what the stock final drive for a rubbermount 1200 is. I think I want the chain as close to stock. And what if I want more ACCELERATION, do I go up with the ratio ( like 2.0 to 2.3) or down?
Thanks

In the US: 68/29. Elsewhere: 68/30.
If you want more acceleration you want a smaller tranny sprocket or larger rear wheel sprocket.

Yes and if you move one tooth in the front, you might be able to use your same belt. If you change the rear, you'll need to go more teeth and will normally have to change belts = more $.

So, my US model has a final ratio of 2.34, correct? If I want more acceleration at the cost of low rpms at high speeds should I get a lower ratio, like 2.10?

Backwards
2.34 is the 1200 gear
2.42 is the 883 gear

No, a higher one: smaller tranny sprocket and/or bigger rear wheel sprocket → bigger reduction.
Ie: more mechanical advantage, lower output (revs).

Ok, so now I'm throughly confused. I understand the math thanks to you guys but I can't apply it.
Like I said I'm ordering from Zipper's and this is from their website:
SPORTSTER: Choose between 19-26 teeth on the transmission sprocket, 46-55 teeth on the rear (21/23 front, 46-51 rear sizes fit best on ‘91-’03 models; 2004-up models require larger diameter sprockets [25/26 front, 52-55 rear] to clear the passenger peg mounts on the frame).
http://www.zippersperformance.com/ca...=822&prod=2167
So the "biggest" ratio I can get for my rubbermount sporty is 2.2 ratio from the 25 front sprocket and a 55 rear. Thats not even close to my stock ratio and I wanted to go a bit higher then stock. Can someone inlighten me or am I still doing bad math?

No the biggest would be an 18 or 19 front (smallest available) and the largest rear available. This will give you the highest (numerical) and quickest accelerating ratio. It will also produce the highest RPM in any given gear at any given speed.
edit:
I see what your talking about concerning their "recommendations". I'd talk to them on the phone and see why a smaller front sprocket on your rubber mount won't work. Also, there are companies who'll make any sprocket you ask for. If these guys can't help you check:

Do they do the smaller sizes of tranny sprocket to fit the rubber mounts?

Divide the rear tooth count by the front tooth count
55 divided by 22 = 2.5
Front sprocket will turn 2.5 times for every rotation of the rear.
