Post voltage regulator help??

i have a voltage regulator and it bolts to the end of my generator, this is the only thing idk how to test to see if it is working correctly or not?? does anyone know how to test this by itself?? is that even possible? i really dont feel like paying 136 beans for no reason for a new one?????

Best IMO is to take the gen and the reg together to an auto electric shop to have them tested. They like to test both parts together.

You can find some basic troubleshooting guides in the Sticky at the top of page 1 of this forum, but as Mick says the complete test if those don't satisfy is to take the gen/reg set to a shop.
