Default foamy oil

changed oil to an 74 xlch yesterday( 20W/50), poured in 3 quarts, after warm-up checked through the filler cap and the oil was like yellow/tan porridge !! what the h...? , too much oil ? pressure was 40 psi cold, dropped to below 10 after few minutes, the bike has been standing for 16 years, ( yes i did change other fluids , flushed gas tank etc.etc) fired up after two kicks, keihin type carb..

Could have been condensation in the oil passages after 16 years?

What he said.

Oil is cheaper than an engine rebuild. After all that time there is going to be corrosion, moisture and other unwanted products in there.

If it is in otherwise good condition get it hot and do another oil change and another one after a good long ride.

We need photos!!!
