Default Lucked out with first breakdown

I have put about 1200 trouble free miles on my '77 and lucked out with my first mechanical failure since it happened in my garage! Went to start her up, pulled in the clutch lever and the handle went to the bars. I figured that the cable was disconnected from the release mechanism. I took the primary cover off and the cable was disconnected and one of the ball bearings was out of the mechanism. I took the whole release mechanism out and it had a pretty good amount of wear on it, so I figured I might as well replace it since it was probably original. Don't know if it was needed, but I only want to do this once.

I am bummed I can't ride today since it is sunny and 65, but I figure if I am going to break down, what better place than the garage!

Joe
