Default Damn Bolts vibrated out, fender support fell of and ruined my tire!

I was riding to work this morning when suddenly I heard a thunk followed by a scraping noise. It was still dark out so I couldn't really see what had happened. I quickly pulled over to the side of the interstate to find a large chunck of metal wedged against the front of my rear wheel. At first I thought it was road debris, but once I took a closer look I realized it was the support bracket from underneath my rear fender. The two bolts that hold it in vibrated out and it let loose. My turn signal wiring was ripped out with it and a deep grove was worn into the tire. I went straight to the HD dealer after work to see about repair, since I installed the removable backrest hardware that bolts into the support bracket they told me they could not cover any of my costs, they're only advice was to use the red locktite instead of the blue next time. Anyways I've had a few beers and am over that now, just trying to figure out if I want to buy a whitewall or blackwall for my next tire. Thought I would share my little story, keep an eye on those rear fender strut bolts.

Damn, that sucks dude. But, then again I am an expert when it comes to screws not staying where you put them. Hence the name Screw Loose and a 883 -> 1200 conversion...
