Purchased it from www.harleyseats.com. It's a Cobra 2up seat. The guy at Harley Seats is awesome...they shortened the seat pan (because I told them I chopped the rear fender) and added the diamond stitching. Great people....only set me back around few hundred...which is what you pay for a springer seat anyway. At least the girl can ride with when she wants!

I actually have just a few threads coming out of the nut now but I think there is plenty of room to weld on a rear strut. so far I have put about 1000 miles on it this way and NO movement at all. Yes they are stock shocks as well. as fas as clearance goes I just bent the steel to go around the belt and mocked up the smae bend on the other side to look even.

thanks!

They are adjustable floorboards I think for an FXST. I got them used online (from Harley rider in my neighborhood-$30). If you look on Ebay...think they run for around $60-$80ish (new). But..if you use them right out of the box, these floorboards sit to far away from the bike. Look like Bat Wings. Sooo....I had to modify them a little and switch around the brackets (you can see in the photo). Since it is smooth side to smooth side...I put some JB-Weld Epoxy on them and plan on sanding them down and repainting them. The final product is what I want. As for the fit..is pretty good. They are adjustable so I can set them to my height (5'7). Was a little weird at first..but I got used to it.
Of course after I worked on these...I noticed Led Sled Customs sell some nice floorboards. Cost a lot...but if you have the money (not like me)...I would probably try them out.

Conversion kit

Has any one thought of putting the '48' triple tree/16 inch trie/front end on a IRON 883 or other XL?
I contacted HD in Millwalkie and they said that if there was not a 'kit' to a change from the 19 inch wheel and forks to the 16 inch wheel, they did not recommend it (Read Legal).
My local HD dealer said that they could/would be able to do so.
I have asked this question to many dealers and the response is usually; why not 'just buy' a XL 1200 Fourty Eight'?
The first clue would be that I was not buying one in the first place. I'll just whip the $ out of my pocket. No problem.
Any realistic response would be greaty appeciated.

Hawg Halters sell Mid-Glide and Wide-Glide conversion kits for 39mm sportster Front ends. The triple tree's come chrome, polished or black.
Also J P cycle have conversion kits also. with the 16 inch wheel you may have to make your own spacers. Or just buy a frt. end complete from Harley.

Looks like I'm gonna have a busy few winter months with new mods! Installing Licks 2G 10" rear shocks, Alloy Art rear strut mount tail lights, 7' fat boy headlight(need to wire it up yet), DEI titanium wrap my pipes, Install Biltwell black diamond solo seat(rubber mounting it), plus more powder coating and such! Spent too much money in the last month.
