Default Bobber plans spoiled...

Nevada, we got gambling and prostitution, but god forbid!!!!....

I'm kind of at a loss. My initial plan on my 883 Iron was to make it a proper bobber. I pulled the front fender off and love how it looks without it, i rode over tot he Harley dealer and some guys cracked some jokes then told me that it looked great, but to be careful about it, turns out it's illegal to not have a front fender.

NRS 486.221 Fenders required while in operation. A person shall not drive a motorcycle or moped unless the wheels are protected by fenders to prevent the throwing of rocks, dirt, water or other substances to the rear.

Looks like my original idea won't work. Now I really, really don't wanna use the stock fender, and I'm not seeing any laws on fender length. . . What would you guys suggest?

I thought about that. I wondered about buying a 'fork brace' that mounts in the stock holes, something small that could 'count' as a fender. Fender blanks are cheap too, so I could do a custom one perhaps. And I've seen bikes down in vegas without em and i know the owner is native to vegas... so.. Damn it all!

It may be one of those laws that they CAN get you for, but most cops wouldnt bother. Thats my guess anyways.

It would hardly be seen...

Like others have said, cut it down.

Hell I'd cut it down till it was just long enough to fit between the forks.

That's why I'd get one of those fork brace's, they fit and are there. And that chopped fender snowman, that doesn't look bad at all!

This law doesn't make any sense, as the rear tire can do this all the time unless it's one of those that cover damn near to the ground.

If you are building a bike to please the cops and the law then i say get into golf or something. I built my bike to my taste and there are more than a few "not legal" modifications to it. I'll pay the fix it tickets and keep riding. But that's just me
