storz high pipes on 02 883r
I'd like to put some high pipes on a pre -04 883 / anyone have bub/storz setup on one ? I heard it might not be a lot of mods to put them on / they are made up with mounting brkts for rubber mount / any ideas or pictures / I have been looking at jemco and omar but the storz pipes look very good / nicer than supertrapps too

no need to mod rubber mount pipes. there are plenty of high pipes for solid mounts from Storz and others.

Here is the Storz price list and it appears they only have exhaust for 04+ and the XR: http://www.storzperf.com/pricelist.pdf.
This is from the current SuperTrapp catalog. SuperTrapp and Storz are the only high pipes I am aware of:
Sportster XLH 883/1100/1200 ‘86-99 Satin Stainless / Straight 825-70883 $569.00R
XLH 883/1100/1200 ‘86-99 Polished Stainless / Straight 826-70884 $649.00R
XLH 883/1100/1200 ‘86-99 Satin Stainless / Straight 815-70883 $859.00
XL 883/1200 ‘04-10 Satin Stainless / Straight 815-71202 $859.00
XR 1200 ‘08-10 Satin Stainless / Straight 815-71210 $985.00
From this, I am thinking there are not high pipes for pre-04.
If that is the case, the mount for the Storz, don't know about the mount for the SuperTrapp, mounts to the trans case. I am thinking you would have to take that mount and modify it to have it bolt to your frame. I don't think it would be too difficult but it would surely require some cutting and welding.

If look at this page I see SuperTrapp high pipes on a pre rubber mount at the bottom: http://www.sportster.org/tech/exhaust-gc/.
And here some on ebay for 86-99: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SUPER...Q5fAccessories.
Personally, I would go with stainless pipes over the Storz mild metal. I would have for mine but the super trapps comes down two low and would interfere with my rearsets.

Weren't the solid mount Storz pipes made by Supertrapp? I think they stopped carrying them when they teamed up with Bub.

May be. I don't know. But, I think you are right. If you look in the Storz catalog they don't have any pipes but you can find a picture that shows a part of the exhuast and they sure look like SuperTrapp.

I'm not sure what the confusion here is about. Storz/BUB and Supertrapp are two completely different companies. Also the first three out of five listings above from the Supertrapp catalog are for pre rubbermount.....which is what you are looking for isn't it?

Also, I have seen pre-04 Storz pipes pop up on eBay from time to time, so keep an eye open if that is what you have your heart set on.

We know they are different. What JP was saying is that Storz has someone else make the pipes. Initially it was SuperTrapp then he went with Bub.
What I meant was they did not show 00-03.
